if you want to restore your 'connections', then ring 999, then it should say 'restoring connections', then as soon as it says your calling 'emercency call' press the red phone button so you dont ring the police, and then you will have conncetion. (this only works if it has an 'X' where the connection bars are or 'OFF', it doesnt work even if it has 1 connection bar) Hope it helps.
