Format System memory in the setting and features section. It will wipe all added data off your dsi, you can not get them back though. Previously bought items on the dsi shop i believe can be restored for free unless they are no longer available.
A Nintendo DSi can be reset in a few ways. One way it to remove the battery from the back, another way is to go into the 'settings' and restore the factory settings.
