Do what I did. design the living room to a Disney cruise master piece! Make it oceany themed. But make it easy to clean up if they are the up tight type. And maybe throw a water themed Disney movie on the TV like Finding Nemo or the Little Mermaid. They'll watch it with you and say yes by the end of the day. It worked for me.
