Put the proper size wrench or socket on the pulley of the tensioner.Pull the wrench counter clockwise to release the tension on the belt.
You should not have to remove any brackets to do this. Near the top of the belt run is a pulley on a spring loaded belt tensioner; insert a ratchet or use a wrench to release the spring tension and the belt will come off.
