Based on the notes in the discussion area, I think you are jumping into a conversation too quickly. You need to look into her eyes a few times as you ride the slides and, if she looks back, then maybe. I think in these cases, you are a stranger and there is no link to you.
It's hard to overcome the stranger stage, and you have to work up to it. Starting a conversation with someone you know is one thing, but you need to do something to break the ice with people you don't know. You also have to be willing to accept frequent rejection. Not everyone will be willing to have a conversation with a random person... but when you find the people that are willing, it will be worth it.
