The best way to tell is to have downloads checked with anti virus software, but if you're like me and don't have the right software or don't have the time, then usually check the titles and the lengths of the download. If you're downloading a song that is normally three minutes long and it says that the length is five minutes or a minute or even only a few seconds long, it could be a virus. Check the titles for how professional they look, for example, if you're downloading Love the Way You Lie, look to make sure it is displayed as "Love the Way You Lie - Eminem ft Rhianna" and not "love the way you lie eminem ft rhianna". I have never had a problem with the more professional looking ones, but before I figured out this trick I had downloaded a few of the other ones and I had gotten a few viruses. Hope this helps!
you guess
Limewire can download copyright-protected files, which is one reason why it is so contentious.
Limewire itself is safe. However the files you download using it may not be.
Nope, you can get many viruses from limewire
LimeWire was shut down for violating copyright law.
No matter what version of LimeWire, it is never 100% safe and still has files for download with viruses.
Using Limewire is not illegal. Limewire is a P2P file sharing utility. If you share files which are copyrighted and without a licence or permission then that is illegal.
You do find information about the peer to peer file sharing client Limewire through their own official site "LimeWire". Limewire is under a court order dated october 26, 2010 to stop distributing the limewire software.
Well yes you are safe from the law, but your not exactly. Unless you remove all downloaded content from limewire then technically you are still breaking the law by having illegal copies of media. Also if you have imported and music or files from limewire into another program, I suggest you get rid of these files as a little box will appear from limewire saying that some files are corrupt, although they are not, because limewire is not there. If these files are not deleted then limewire will corrupt your whole system as I found out last year. I ended up having to re-format. The safest thign to do is remove limewire and all file downloaded by it, no matter what program they're in.
i can't tell you if the paid lime is safe but i us the FREE LIME WIRE and haven't cought no bugs as of yet so i'd think it would be safe
It is not illegal for anyone to use Limewire. It is simply illegal to download copyrighted files on Limewire, and the only people who may be charged for this is the original downloader. When other Limewire users download the existing file, it is simply called "file sharing," and it is most definetly not illegal. Soooo....no, no one has been prosecuted for using Limewire-just for downloading coyrighted files on to Limewire. If you aren't copyrighting anything, you have not broken the law, and have simply participated in file sharing.
