If it is a 1973 model, there was only one engine- the 399cc opposed twin which was made by OMC. There was two versions of this engine-a 21 hp and a high performance 30 hp. You could tell the difference between the two engines easily. The 30 hp engine had dual exhaust(2 mufflers) and also ran on premium gas only.

The 10W 40 oil is thicker and is thought by many to be more efficient.
