What kind of charges will a sheet of paper have after it has been rubbed with wool or fur with silk?

In a atom there are negative, positive as well as neutral charges. The positive charges(proton) and the neytral charges( neutron) are held together in nucleus by strong electrostatic forces. The negative charges( electron) keeps on revolving around the nucleus. A neutral atom has a equal number of positive and negative charges which balances each other. Now when the sheet of paper have been rubbed with wool then the negative charges gets attracted to the wool and due to the lack of negative charges the paper becomes positively charge. And so is the fur when rubbed with silk.

When a diamond and silver are rubbed together the diamond makes a scratch in the silver What does this tell you about the two substances?

diamond is harder than silver

When a diamond and silver are rubbed together the diamond makes a scratch in the silver. What does this tell you about the two substances?

What particle is transfered when 2 substances are rubbed together?

The outer surfaces of all substances encountered in our daily lives are covered in electrons. When two surfaces are rubbed against each other, electrons may be transferred from one surface to the other, creating a static charge on each of the substances, one positive and the other negative.

You rubbed two balloons together and they stuck together is it possible?

The rubbing generates Static Electricity charges, and since the positive and negative attract each other, the two balloons stick together.

How electric charge produced by friction in bodies?

When two objects rubbed together become charged due to electrons being transferred from one object to another.charging by friction is when two different materials are rubbed together or come in contact

What two stones can be rubbed together to make fire?

Flint and Steel can be rubbed together to make fire.

What happens when two different materials rubbed together?

You will create friction (a force pushing them both back) and heat.

Why does static electricity charge with wool?

Static electricity is the buildup of electrical charges on the surface of some object or material. Static electricity is usually created when materials are pulled apart or rubbed together, causing positive (+) charges to collect on one material and negative (−) charges on the other surface. Results from static electricity may be sparks, shocks or materials clinging together.

How can charges be produced from and stored in insulators?

Certain materials will build up static charges when rubbed together. If you take fur and rub it against an acrylic rod then separate them, a static charge will have been built up and stored on the surface of the acrylic rod.

When the glass rod is rubbed to the silk the electrons are transfered?

both get charged but with charges of opposite nature
