How does AIDS affect the South African economy?
- It reduces the size the of the workforce, skilled and unskilled.
- It causes serious social problems that are likely to cause economic problems in the medium and long term. For example, the early death of adult parents often means that teenagers have to bring up their younger siblings (brothers and sisters) instead of continuing their education. This in turn reduces the number of future skilled workers.

Since each group of people (men, women, children, etc.) want to do a specific type of work like herding animals, metalworking, or farming. The government of North Korea is mostly closed to the outside world. This makes for a pretty stagnant economy. The government of South Korea is more open, and has a more v…ibrant economy.
Slavery was actually going out before the invention of the cotton gin. However, with its invention, there was an increased need for manual labor to harvest the cotton, and thu…s slavery boomed again. The cotton boom, therefor, increased the economy and the upper class while re-instating a growth of slavery in the South.
It helps to keep things more organized. Roads and schools can be built and the economy expanded because the money is being taken care of.
Congress allowed African-Americans to serve in the Union Army.
Negatively!!! As a youth myself and a victim of crime it has become increasingly difficult for me to feel safe in the streets, workplace and even my home. The absence of appro…priate role models combined with substance abuse, gender violence and immorality among youth there is a huge negative influence on the youth. Politics, Tendtrepeneurs as well as media and social networks put tremendous pressure on youth, unemployed youth for that matter and thus they resort to all sorts of crime. Government should implement harsher sentences to child (juvenile) offenders as a tactic that crime does not pay no matter how small the offence may be. being leniant on youths create the impression that its ok to participate in crime as the law is on the side of the offenders!
Inflation in the South African economy affects all classes of citizens. Studies show even the middle class survives off less than $1.30 a day.
The south's economy was based on farming, and still is today. The Confederate lands were small and the population was around 9 million. Over half of the population was slaves.… As for the Union, there were twice as many, 15 million. For the south, the small population was a bad thing. Less men could not be replaced. Women and children stayed home and took care of the farms. God bless if the slaves did seek revenge on the slave owner's wife -- All kind of things would happen. The south had plenty of food to distribute. The problem was: How? The north blocked all ways of transporting food. Many southern soldiers died and were abandoned on field. Towns would be destroyed and abandoned. Farm lands were also destroyed. They could not be farmed on any more. The south had to look for undestroyed places to farm. This led the south's economy poor. Years later, carbetbaggers and scalawags will come down from the north and try to help the south. This will lead into a time of Reconstruction, which will also help the south.

It forced the cotton plantation owners (the South's biggest industry and export) to pay their (from now on) employees and allow them to leave if they wanted to. The South'…s economy was however most affected by the Civil War that had completely stopped the South's cotton export. At the end of the war the Southern States found that India and Egypt had in the meantime largely taken over the cotton market. The banning of slavery and the resulting rising of the cost of labor thus mainly added to the many economic problems the South faced as a result of the Civil War.
AIDS has affected the economy of Sub-Saharan Africa by reducing the available work force. Many people with AIDS either pass away or are too ill to work.
