If you mean St. Teresa of Avila:
Her books are still in circulation (The Interior Castle, Life, etc. She wrote seven). She influenced Dorothy Day and is the namesake of St. Therese de Lisieux (and indirectly Mother Teresa). She reformed the Carmelite nuns, which is an order of nuns that still exists and has greatly grown. If it weren't for her effort in reforming the Carmelites and the Catholic Church as a whole (through the council of Trent and her books) I don't know where we'd be. People pray for her intercession. Her body has not deteriorated since her death (that doesn't really influence our life other than the fact that it is a pretty big miracle). She is a Doctor of the Church (one of only three women given that title).
Hope that's sort of helpful.
Nada turbe,
Nada te espante,
todo se pasa,
Dios no se muda;
la paciencia
todo lo alcanza;
quien a Dios tiene
nada le falta:
Sólo Dios basta. -Santa Teresa de Ávila
She was influenced by the lives of the saints, especially that of Saint Francis of Assisi.
Miracles were not required for declaring a person a saint in the early years of Chrisitianity. The person would have been declared a saint by popular acclamation to a bishop based on the lives and merits of the candidate. This was especially true if the person died the death of a martyr as it was felt that making this ultimate sacrifice for Our Lord would be an automatic designation of that person as a saint.Even today, miracles are not always a requirement for canonization, especially in the case of martyr.If any miracles were investigated for the canonization of St. Teresa, there is no public record of them.
Mother Teresa had confided in a priest who was her personal spiritual director that she often felt abandoned by God. She, at times, began to doubt the very existence of God. This is fairly common among saints and is called a darkness of the soul. Saint Teresa of Avila, Saint John of the Cross and even Padre Pio went through similar events in their lives. It is, apparently, imposed by God as a test of the person's faithfulness. Mother Teresa remained faithful feeling it would be much better to believe in God and then die to find out there wasn't a God than to not believe and then find out there was.
There are numerous saints who have served God in various ways throughout history, including Saint Francis of Assisi, Saint Teresa of Calcutta (Mother Teresa), Saint Catherine of Siena, and Saint Padre Pio, among many others. These saints dedicated their lives to serving others, living out their faith, and spreading the love of God through their actions.
