Science attempts to questions about the world around us, including its creation, but does not attempt to questions about the existence of God. Furthermore, science does not require divine involvement in creation, but does not rule out this possibility.

The accepted theory for the creation of the Universe is that an original, primeval event, known as the "Big Bang" brought the universe into existence from an infinitesimal beginning. Some scientists say that there may be many universes, each of which began with its own "Big Bang", although we will never make contact with any other universes even if they do exist.

As the universe expanded, matter began to clump together under the influence of gravity. First, dense clouds of matter were formed, then stars. Planets, such as the Earth, are simply left-over accretions of matter that were attracted into orbit by their nearest stars, such as our sun.
