The light bulb gives light be heating the filament. Roughly speaking, it is emitting black body radiation. Plank's Law gives you the formula.

We have NO TROUBLE at all seeing visible light wavelengths from the sun.We cannot see the radio, microwave, infrared, ultraviolet, or x-ray "light" from the sun because our eyes are not sensitive to these wavelengths.
That would be black.
Different wavelengths and frequencies of light are interpreted as different colours; those of sound are interpreted as pitch.
A pencil has nothing to do with the brightness of a light bulb.
The difference between light and dark is a rather complicated topic. It involves, with light, their being certain wavelengths present. With darkness, there are no wavelengths present.

photometer or light meter
Violet light has longer wavelengths.
The brightness of a star is called its luminosity. This refers to the total amount of energy a star emits per second, taking into account its brightness across all wavelengths of light.
in the visible light range
Sunlight contains all the colors (wavelengths) in the visible light spectrum. This is evidenced by the colors seen in rainbows.
Loudness is to brightness as sound is to light.
Scattering of light
It means the wavelengths are separated. White light, for example, is actually a mixture of different wavelengths.
The amount of energy used by a lightbulb does not affect a plants growth, only the brightness and spectrum of the light produced.
