∙ 13y agoBy split, I'm assuming you mean a mitotic division. After an egg is fertilized, it goes through rapid mitosis and the baby grows. There is no name for the two cells after the first division, but after the fourth division, there are 16 cells. This is called a morula. As it grows, it will become a blastocyst, then embryo, then a fetus.
