the cell mebrane has achannel espicially for water, in some cases according to the osmolarity around cell mebrane the water will go from high concentration to low concentration by these channels . in this way cell membrane will keep the osmotic pressure equal on both sides by movement the water

Define the structure and function of the cell membrane plasma membrane?

The cell membrane consists of a lipid bilayer which is actually a phospholipid. Cell membranes are semipermiable and they regulate what enters and leaves the cell.

Is a cell membrane invironment?

The cell membrane is somewhat of an environment.. cell membranes have many proteins inside them.. the proteins regulate the cell structure, allow cell-cell interaction, and allow passage of materials through the membrane. There also steroids in the membrane that regulate its shape.. and there are also various sugars / glycoproteins in the membrane. Also, one important thing to realize is that the inside of the cell membrane is NON polar.. the outside is polar however.

What structure regulates the movement of water into and out f a cell?

the cell membrane

What structures in a plant cell help regulate the amount of water in a cell?

The chromosomes. this is wrong. the cell membrane is what regulates the amount of water inside the cell.

What is the structure that surrounds a cell and controls what enters and leaves the cell?

The structure that controls traffic to and from the cell is the plasma membrane. It is not to be confused with the cell wall, which serves more to give structure to the cell.

What are the main functions of the cell membrane and cell wall?

The cell wall and the cell membrane regulate what enters and exits the cell.

What structure around the outside of the plant cell keeps them from rupturing from too much water?

Cell Wall

Can you clearly see the membrane as a structure?

Yes, the cell membrane can be seen clearly as a structure. The cell membrane is called the plasma membrane and is a barrier between the cell and its environment.
