What happens when matter changes from liquid to solid?

As matter changes from solid to liquid (in other words when solid matter melts) the temperature remains constant. After all the solid has melted, the temperature of the matter may begin to rise again if the environment is warmer than the melting point of the solid.

The melting point is the temperature at which a solid becomes a liquid.

How can substance changes from liquid to gas?

The state change from liquid to a gas comes from the changing of the temperature. The increase of thermal energy will provide such a change. i.e. Heat it up and watch it boil!
