Their isn't one
RX 8s do not have power steering pumps they use an electric power steering system. If you are having trouble good luck the dealer I went to just wanted to change it out instead of a easy electrical fix.
Each are done differently. and depending on the car. this can be easy or hard. get a Chiltons manual.
pull the p/s pulley off of the pump, the rest is easy.
runs the power steering pump that makes it easy to turn
You don't. The Power Steering is electric and does not use fluid.
Under the power steering pump in front of the engine. It is not an easy one to change.
change oil and drive easy on it and check and fill tranny, power steering and coolant if needed
Sounds like bad power steering pump, but could also just be the power steering pump belt is slipping.
Three main risks are associated with power steering leak: 1) Loss of easy steering capability 2) Low amounts of power steering fluid can cause the power steering pump to fail, which is another expensive item 3) Risk of fire with the fluid being dripped on the engine
easy take it to the auto body
It is all in how easy it is to steer the car. The major difference in having power steering can be felt when parking the car or other maneuvers requiring maximum steering travel at very low speeds.
One cause for "surging" or uneven steering on late model GM vehicles is a faulty steering sensor. This steering position sensor tells the variable assist power steering how fast you are moving the steering wheel. Very easy to change - located at the base of the steering column inside the vehicle. Costs about $60 from GM.
