Not far. As a jet, power must be constant to maintain lift. All Boeing commercial jets are designed with a maximum 10-ft/s sink rate. That is, with total engine failure, the craft will fall ten feet per second (roughly 100 feet every ten seconds -- or if operating at 43,000 feet, it would take about 71 minutes to reach sea level.)
