There are different temperatures at different parts of the fire. The hottest temperature in most wood fires are found in the red embers after the fire has been going for awhile. These temperatures are from 1200 degrees to 1500 degrees. However, since so much air is circulating around the fire, grates and other nearby object rarely exceed 1000 degrees.
The gas fire probably burns at a lower temperature, with the grate also being the hottest part…around 1000 degrees. This is evident because the grates sometimes glow…and iron glows at approx 1000-1100 degrees F.
The flue in both cases is usually quite cool, because of the air mixture. In colonial times, some flues were built from WOOD with a mud pack on the inside…. chances are that the normal flue temperature for such an open fire fall in the 250-400 degree range
The particles of the gas will heat up, move faster and collide with each other more, increasing the pressure and the can will explode.
A bellows injects O2 into the flame causing it to burn hotter. Much like blowing on a hot ember while trying to get a fire started.
The fireplace's heat is an example of radiation.
it burns the wood
It really all depends on the type of Fireplace you have. Fireplaces usually run on a pilot with a thermocouple or thermopile. These produce their own milivolts to run the gas valve. These type of fireplaces do not need power to ignite. If the fireplace's on/off switch is a remote that runs off of batteries or is a switch on the faceplate of the fireplace, then this fireplace should work with no power. Most fireplaces have a blower that circulates the warm air it generates. This fan would be running on 120v from the street and would not work when the power goes out. You may still have a flame on, but all the heat it generates is going out the stack. Other fireplaces have no fan and are mainly for looks. You may have a fireplace that is dependent on the 120volts and will do nothing. Check the operation manual on your fireplace.
The fireplace was so hot it nearly broke yesterday.
Brazil is a very hot country. Nobody has a fireplace.
yes if there is too much fire it can get too hot
Furniture and fireplace stores will have fireplace rugs. However you can get some regular rugs for this. Most people prefer the fireplace rugs because they are heat resistant and can withstand hot conditions.
The average fireplace fire can reach temperatures of around 1,100-1,200 degrees Fahrenheit. This can vary depending on factors such as the type of wood and airflow in the fireplace.
Screens are often placed in front of a fireplace to catch hot embers. Similarly, metal fenders are sometimes used around the bottom of a fireplace to catch sparks.
hot irons heated in the fireplace.
Can get up to 150-300 degrees Farhen hight

Because of the heat from the fire heating up the mantel.
You have to, or the fire is going to burn way too hot and not last very long. Depends on the type of wood you use also.
If it is a colder region then a fireplace is a significant asset to add to the house and also increase the selling value. A hotter place will already be too hot for any extra heat.
