A chemical compound contain two or more different chemical elements.

An element is made up of one type of atom. Compounds are made of two or more different chemical elements that are chemicaly joined (bonded) together. Basically speaking, chemical elements are the building blocks of chemical compounds.

The elements can be thought of as the letters of the chemical alphabet, with which compounds which can be thought of as the words of the chemical languageare written.

A chemical element is a pure chemical substance consisting of one type of atom.A chemical compound is pure chemical substance consisting of two or more different chemical elements.

So basically A chemical element is 1 pure atom, and a chemical compound is two or more chemical elements.
