The brass is bemt manualy and mechanicly to form the shape. The main tube with the bell is made seperatly. They fill it with a soapy solution and freeze it. One the solution is frozen, the can bend the metel without it buckeling. The bell shape is formed by bending the metel, and later hammering it, but to make the shape round, they spin the whole thing (when it is still unbent) and smooth it out. The other tubes and valves are attached to the bent main tube later.

The process varies from manufacturer to manufacturer...

Trumpets are made from Brass, and alloy of copper and zinc. The metal is melted, and hammered into the basic shape. Various methods are used to assemble the Trumpet, such as welding, and plasma welding. The valves are often hand lapped, meaning that an actual person makes sure the valves work just right by machining them until they are perfect. The trumpet is then polished, and tested.

This is not a perfect description of how a trumpet is manufactured, but it is a general outline.

In the simplest terms, a long sheet of metal, usually brass, is formed into a long tube which is bent into the appropriate shape. Further tubes are attached for the valves and slides. Finally, the end of the trumpet is fluted.

We have very little information on the earliest trumpets. We know that trumpets were found in Tutankhamen's tomb which were made of silver and bronze, but the specifics of how they were made remain a mystery.

The tubes are bent to the correct shape from hard drawn brass, copper, or nickel.

The bell is assembled using a single sheet of brass and has it's bow bent and flare rounded. The valves are bored and soldered together as a module, then the whole thing is soldered into a working trumpet. The brass is finally buffed then the ancillaries like felts and corks are added to the finished product.
