If the vehicle is 1996 or newer, then it uses a OBDII computer system for onboard monitoring functions. The check engine light can be turned off by using the "clear" function of a scan tool (which can be rented at Auto-Zone or be done at the dealership).
That depends, each vehicle takes a different amount of time to do all the required self tests.
The service engine did not shut your car down, It was the part that turned the light on, (not the computer monitoring system) You need to determine what turned the light on that's very likely what turned your car off.
The check engine/service engine light should come on as soon as the ignition is turned to the on position without starting the engine. If it does not, then the bulb is either blown or has been removed.
WHAT??????
When the engine is turned off the next service time or driving distance display is shown
Yes, the crankshaft main and rod journals can be turned .010", .020", or .030" under and or just polished but it has to be removed from the engine to do so.
It is not supposed to be on when engine is running unless there is a problem.
reset check engine lightDisconnect the negative battery termnal for five minutes.
either you need a service or their is a fault with the engine system, either way take it along to a garage.
Because quite a lot of the energy used by a combustion engine gets turned into heat whether we want it or not, so a cooling system is needed to keep the engine from overheating.
Probably answered by this service bulletin: TT0404-004 APR 04 Body - Whistle from Engine Area
Have the engine controller checked for faults then serviced and the light turned off. Take it to the dealer.
