Google takes imagery is taken from a variety of sources (satellite, aerial, air balloon, etc.) and processed them into the format and coordinate system of Google Earth's databases. Sometimes this requires reprojecting and transforming the data into a compatible representation. Data then goes through a quality control process and fed into a processing system before it gets distributed to the live Google Earth database servers. Google Maps shares the same underlying imagery and maps database so it only has to be done once. More details on how Google Earth imagery works can be found in related links.
Data such as places or placemarks (landmarks, hotels, churches, etc.) get mapped onto the Google Earth base imagery with a latitude/longitude coordinate and altitude of its location.
A zigzag road is mapped on Google earth or Google maps as a straight line unless zoomed very closely
Yes. Alaska has been mapped, explored, studied and searched for oil and other resources. Hasn't Google Earth mapped everything? One small note, when you go to Alaska, be careful using Google earth maps, the roads are almost all off on the mapping system, use a map purchased in a store instead.
Unless you mean paper maps, google maps has the entire earth mapped out.
Google Street View cameras have mapped a minuscule patch of land in Antarctica that is inhabited by penguins, and this imagery is now available on Google Maps (and Google Earth) for all to explore.See related links below
The data was mapped to show the distribution of sales across different regions.
Saved places are stored in a local file named myplaces.kml. This file is stored in a different location than the Google Earth application data so uninstalling or reinstalling Google Earth has no effect on the saved places.Reinstalling Google Earth will use the previous saved places data if available otherwise it will create the initial saved places if none existed before.
Google Earth allows individuals and groups to post information various places. There isn't a great deal of information about Israel though. In addition many locations are mapped via either Wikipedia or Answers.com. The Google Earth Community site is found at bbs.keyhole.com (see link below).
There is a live traffic layer available in both Google Earth and Google Maps. In Google Earth click on the layer 'Traffic' under More in Layers.Note the traffic data isn't available for all cities and countries.

If you have a GPS (Global Positioning System) device, you can connect it to your computer to import your waypoint and track data in Google Earth. This will allow you to view your GPS data inside of Google Earth. Not all devices are supported. If device is not supported then need a tool to convert the GPS track data into KML or GPX format. GPSBabel is a free software conversion tool that supports hundreds of GPS data formats.
Errors in imagery, labels, etc. can be reported in Google Earth data reporting form. See related links for URL.
Google Earth 6 is the most current version of Google Earth. As for the satellite imagery and layers hosted by Google, the same data appears on Google Earth 5 and Google Earth 6 alike. In fact, Google Maps for the most part shows the same satellite imagery as that in Google Earth but sometimes the imagery updates for one is slightly ahead of the other. The frequency of imagery updates is answered in a related question. See related questions for details.
