They are alike in that they can help to avoid predation, or that they can be used by predators to sneak up on prey.
Camouflage is a passive defence mechanism that allows the prey to merge into its background, and all it needs to do is remain still to avoid being detected. Predators can too have an advantage if they are camouflaged, for example, leopards have a spotted coat which makes them difficult to see due to them being able to blend in with light patterns.
Mimicry is when prey organisms look very similar to another (most often harmful) species. There are two types of mimicry - Batesian and Mullerian. Batesian being where a harmless species mimics a harmful species and Mullerian being where two harmful species have evolved to have similar warning signals.
