Polar bears do not normally have as much access to vegetation like berries and grass, insect larvae or honeys as brown bears do. Therefore, they depend much more on flesh for sustenance.

As they both live in completely different environments, they both have completely different diets.

The diet of the polar bear mainly consists of seals and fish. Therefore their diet is mainly a carnivorous one.

Brown bears on the other hand have a more omnivorous diet. They eat meat and fish, just as polar bears do, but they also eat vegetation such as grasses and berries, as well as insects.

The brown bear is more of a scavenger, eating whatever it can get its paws on. Whilst the polar bear is more of a hunter, eating whatever it can hunt.
