It is not really mentions or entirely sure but in Midnight Sun Edward explains how after a few weeks it gets uncomfortable and difficult to control the thirst. I think someone mentions something about roughly 2 weeks - 1 month is the maximum, depending upon self control.

Twilight vampires can survive for a few months without feeding on blood, but they become progressively weaker and lose control of their thirst. They can withstand prolonged periods without blood by consuming a diet of human food and animal blood as a substitute.

∙ 12y agoCenturies. Some deeply buried vampires have been exhumed after greatly protracted periods of time and have been perfectly capable of functioning. Consider the movie 'The Mummy'. While not your typical vampire the mummy did 'cannibalize' victims for their body parts and life-energies. He was interned for centuries and was quite a adversary when he got loose.
