Try this Foolproof method: I screwed a 3" deck screw through the cork that was stuck down in the neck of the bottle. I then used a set of diagonal pliers to GENTLY pry up on the shank of the screw until it was flush with the top of the bottle. I then used a pair of needle nose pliers to form a bridge around the cork and continued to pry up with the diagonal pliers. In a short period of time, I had pulled the cork far enough out of the bottle to finish the job just pulling on the screw. This really does work and is much faster then it sounds
