1 hour from the masses I've attended. Some churches may stretch that to 1.5, when considering the special occasion that Palm Sunday is.

What replaced the Catholic Mass in the 1500s?

The Catholic Church celebrates Holy Mass every day in churches, chapels, and oratories all over the world. It is anticipated that the Church will continue to offer Mass daily until the Lord returns.Roman Catholic AnswerThe Catholic Mass is the re-presentation of Our Blessed Lord's Sacrifice on Calvary. I kind of doubt that anything will ever be conceived of that would top God becoming incarnate in a finite human body, and then allowing Himself to be killed by His own creatures, so there is no conceivable thing that can ever replace the Catholic Mass.

Either way, the Mass would be meaningless. and the obligation void.A Catholic is considered under an obligation to go to mass as long as he or she is able. One exclusion is when the Catholic ceases to be a Catholic, either by attending worship services of another denomination or religion, or by ceasing to believe in God. The moment this point is reached, the former Catholic can quit going to mass.
