This question continues to come up, with great regularity. In most U.S. states, there is no registration, regardless of what anybody tells you. "Register you gun" is something people say because they have heard it on TV. There are 3 or 4 states that require registration, but the other 46 or 47 state…s do not, and there is no federal registration. So, in the vast majority of the U.S. there is no such thing as registration. (MORE)

Unless stolen before making it to a retailer, they all are when bought. --- Firearms are not registered when sold by retailers (FFL dealers) unless they are required to be registered in a particular state. And the registration is usually done by the local police department in those states. F…FL dealers record the buyer's information from form 4473 in their "bound book" and then they are obligated to keep these records for as long as they remain in business and keep their federal firearms license renewed. None. When made, 99.9% are legal, no matter where made. Just because it's against the law for YOU to own it doesn't make the weapon illegal. Technically the above is correct however as guns are not required to be registered in all states it is impossible to say how many are owned legally. Guns th…at are owned illegally are obviously not registered so there is no way to know how many there are. (MORE)

the simple truth is the amount of urban violence that is found incities across America.Look at the city,s ofSt.louis,Chicago,Detroit, philadelphia,Los Angeles etc.all haverising homicide rates directly related to gang violence and norespect for the law in these cities. While it is difficult to admitby… the politicians in these cities. It is a fact that they do nothave the finacial resources and manpower to control the populationof young adults in these urban centers.Another cause is that thereis no jobs fo these young adults. If you look at the crimestatistics for suburban, and rural communities across thisnation, you will find a much lower homicide rate which is inlinewith all major devoleped countries. In many ways the urban homiciderate is the excuse used for gun control by the liberal minds ofthis nation. They cannot control the urban population and gunviolence,so they belieive that disarming all citizens will controlurban gun violence.Almost all urban violence is commited byunregistered handguns, and stolen handguns which is a byproduct ofurban living. If you look at the right to carry laws now beingpassed by many states, this will show a reduction in violent crimeacross the board where this has been implimented.Sometimes you haveto look through the fog to see the real reasons for gunviolence.15% of the population are commiting 90% of the homicidesin the United States.
