Regretfully, science has not yet advanced to a point where this question can be answered with confidence. The aardvark, (genus Tubulidentata), is a close relative of the elephant. There is reliable evidence for the number of elephants required (www.lightbulbjokes.com) but it is not very amusing:

A:Two, but it has to be a pretty big light bulb.


A:Only one, but it has to stand on a trunk to do it.

I am unaware of any current research involving aardvarks.
