It depends. Major natural disasters hit Mexico every couple of years: most of them are hurricanes which are accompanied by floods and general economic losses. Minor disasters such as landslides, earthquakes or floods are more common but have less impact on both the economy and the people affected by such disasters.
Man-made disasters such as toxic spills, fires and explosions are even less common or don't have a meaningful impact besides a couple of casualties.
