12 people landed on the moon; they were all from the Apollo programme because America were the only ones who landed on the moon

Apollo 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, and 17.

Additional Interesting Information:

Apollo 10 went to the moon and descended the Lunar Module (LM) to several thousand feet short of a landing, but did not touch down. NASA had actually not filled the Ascent Module with enough fuel for them to land, just in case they got the urge to do land, against the flight plan. This was done as a preparatory step for the next mission, Apollo 11, where Neil Armstrong actually executed the first touch down on the moon with only 17 seconds to spare in his fuel tank. Buzz Aldrin was the pilot that accompanied Armstrong on this historic voyage: "That's one small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind.'

Apollo 13 suffered an explosion in transit and was forced to abort its landing and luckily returned to the Earth safely. It has been called by NASA as its greatest successful failure. Actually, Apollo 13's explosion was a coil in the oxygen tank that had been crippled 2 years before launch, so on April, 13, 1970, when Jack Swigert flipped the switch to stir the oxygen tanks, the coil caused a spark and exploded the tank and tore apart a section of the service module, as well .
