Monthly pay will be based on grade and time in service like any other military personal. The military pay chart can be found several places online, one of which can be found in the "Related Links" section below. All other benefits of the military would be added to the base pay as seen in the chart located on the link below. Qualifications very based on additional skills, marital status ect. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

It depends on their pay grade (rank), but they also get extra pay depending on what they're doing including flight pay if they are doind a drop over a fire, danger pay, special duty, etc.-- there's all sorts.

Most Air Force Firefighters just getting in nowadays get in as an E-3 (boosted 3 ranks) because they expect them to be in longer on their first contract, because it costs SO MUCH to train them.

When these guys leave the service, they can get hired at normal departments or even specialty departments including Airport FF or HAZMAT.

HAZMAT IS WHERE THE MONEY IS AT-- and Air Force firefighters get all of this world class training and education for free... in fact, yes, and they're paid to do it.

THEY EARN IT THOUGH.
