In Mexico, they use pesos not dollars...

MoreMexican currency uses the "$" sign to indicate pesos rather than dollars, so this can cause a lot of confusion. Mexico revalued its currency in 1992-93 due to inflation. They lopped 3 zeros off everything so a 100-peso coin from 1984 became worth only 0.1 pesos (100/1000). At the current exchange rate this coin is, I'm afraid, only worth about 1 US cent.

Most dealers will pay four or five cents and throw it in their 5/$1 box.
