The EU is working to reduce the effects of climate change and establish a common energy policy. As part of this policy, European Heads of State or Government agreed in March 2007 on binding targets to increase the share of renewable energy. By 2020 renewable energy should account for 20% of the EU's
final energy consumption (8,5% in 2005). To meet this common target, each Member State needs to increase its production and use of renewable energy in electricity, heating and cooling and transport.
The Belgian target is for about 13% in 2015. (2005 = 2.2%)
Policy measures in Belgium contain incentives to use the most cost-effective
technologies. Biomass is traditionally strong in Belgium, but both hydro-power and onshore wind generation have shown strong growth in recent years.
Renewable energy sources are being supported by investment incentives in all three regions. The maximum level of support is as high as 15% in the Walloon region and 20% in both Flanders and Brussels.

About 2% of the US population uses solar energy as their primary source of electricity. This number is expected to grow as solar power becomes more affordable and accessible.
How much energy it uses
About 97%
yes it is
we need solar power because it will save us lots of energy
Arizona uses the most solar panels.
Solar energy is energy radiation. If you live on earth, then your solar energy comes from the sun. It is used to power facilities, and other uses. Some environment friendly cars and motorcycles have solar panels on them. In a way, solar energy is vitamin d to us. It can be used for many things. The sun!
About 1.5%of it is use in the us.
Dispite what liberals think probably less than .03 percent!
to power our homes and give us electricity :)
The US, Italy, Brazil, Paraguay, Australia and India use solar power. Germany is the fastest growing supporter of solar power. *The State of California is the world's third largest user of solar power all by itself.
