Generally about 30k a year more than an average lawyer. This puts them at about 110k-190k coming out of law school depending on where in the country they are practicing. Unless they go and do something stupid like work for the IRS then they only make about 70k
Working for the IRS is not stupid. That is how tax lawyers learn the business. If you bothered to do some research, you would have learned that most of the "highly paid" tax lawyers across the country have worked at the IRS. If they had not, they would not possess the expertise, reputation, or contacts to become highly paid in the first place.
