Federal time is one for one or day for day time. For each day you serve consecutively without disciplinary action, one day is removed from your time. So, if you walk in the bubble on day one and never receive a ticket, you could potentially walk out three years later on a six year sentence.

This depends on several factors, appeals, good behavior, time served, and If the state even had "time-off" policies in effect. On average one year of jail time is approximately 8-10 months of normal time. So If you factor that you lose 2-4 months for every 8-10 months you serve, you could loose anywhere from a year or more depending on all the factors I've listed above.

Its up to the judge that sentences the inmate. They can set a time that the inmate will be allowed to be released or they can order that the full sentence be served.
