Prices of petrol in Australia vary from state to state, and region to region. Depends on where you live, and it varies almost daily. It can be another 15cpl and more for higher octane grades. For example, one month in Melbourne, the price of petrol may be $1.62 per litre. A month later it was $1.02 per litre. In Brisbane (July 2010), it averages from $1.28 - $1.40 during its weekly up-and-down cycle. At Toowoomba, 120 km to the west, it is actually cheaper by several cents.
