The shuttle astronauts carry some of the water needed for themselves and also deliver water to the International Space Station. Over a year 2200 liters are transported at a cost of $US11000 per liter. The ISS also has a Russian built device that processes the humidity in the air and condenses it for drinking and other purposes. On the shuttle, water is produced as a byproduct of the orbiter's fuel cells converting hydrogen and oxygen to electricity.
Because of the massive cost of transporting water, NASA is working on a system that converts many of the astronauts' body fluids - and, yes, that includes urine - into drinkable water. See the Related Link below for the interesting details.

An astronaut is a person who travels in Space. Until 03 an astronaut was usually trained by the military, government or civil space agents. Now they are trained by the SSO- SpaceShipOne. Every astronaut is accompanied by two or more other astronauts when they travel up into Space. The first Americans on the moon were Ed White, Eugene Cernan and (of course) Neil Armstrong.an astronaut is a person who specializes in space travel and exploration. an astronaut is put in to space, orbit in a satellite, on other planet or moon to carry out scientific experiments and observations.the result of his/her observation and experiment is sent to earth where we analyse the result.this helps us to know more about the earth, space, other planets, etc.A space traveleri know

The astronaut's space helmets allows them to breathe in space! It is connected to an air supply. An astronaut's space suit keeps him from harm from outer space objects! They live in an airtight environment (suit, ship, or station).

Yep, if an astronaut has mass, they will have inertia.
Space-based exploration and study is the primary role of an astronaut. A space traveler who is not primarily an astronaut is called a mission specialist.

The name of the first astronaut to fly in space was Alan .b. Shepard.
An astronaut needs a space suit that will allow him or her to stay safe in zero gravity. The astronaut also needs a camera that will record images from outer space.
