Your tank filter should be changed every month. If your filter becomes clogged, it should be changed right away.
It is best that all fish have a filter besides Betta fish. Betta fish don't need filters cause the filter pushes them over with their big fins. Goldfish should have a filter on there tank because they are often overfed. If you have a filter you won't have to change the water as often. The only fish that shouldn't have a filer in captivity are Betta fish.
In theory, fortnightly.
If your fish are swimming up to the surface and gasping for air it a sure sign that there is not enough oxygen in the tank; another sign may be an increased flaring of the gills. You need to buy a filter for the tank (or if you already have one a stronger filter) in order to more efficiently replenish the oxygen supply. If the 'tank' is a small bowl, change the water more often. You don't take them out of the water.
yes, in order to keep your fish alive, it's best to clean the fish bowl as often as you can.
go ahead i did make sure its deep enough though You can... but you shouldn't need to often. you should never empty all the water from your tank, only up to 30% a week. changing all the water gets rid of the much needed bacteria need for breaking down waste. Google aquarium cycling or the nitro cycle for more information. tom :)

When its dirty you need to change the filter.
you should change it every week so it will always be clean.
Fish tank filters are not too expensive to keep using. Most of the money goes towards the initial cost of all equipment. You will probably spend about $20 a year on fish filters if you change them as often as you should. P.S., change the filter once a month.
when you clean a fish tank you should only do a 5 or 10% water change. You should wipe any algae off the glass, filter of objects in the tank using a new cloth as any soaps that get in the water will kill the fish. After this the water may be cloudy but the filter should clear this within a few hours. You should never do a 100% water change as this much change will overwhelm the fish and could kill them.

Fish oil should not cause a change in the color of your bowels. It may affect how often you go to the bathroom.
I cleanmine once every week if the light goes out every 4 days
You should change at least 50% of the water in your tank each week at minimum. If your tank is too small, to over-stocked, or you do not have enough filtration, then you will need to change the water more frequently.
