If you are asking it honestly though, you can own a dog at any age, at least in America. It is all just depending on if you can afford one or not.

∙ 12y agoObedience training can begin at any age. Dog show training, primarily the skills of heeling and staying, is a progression form basic training skills. The sooner socialization with other dogs the better.
