But, most people go to medical school in their mid-20s. Add 3-4 years of residency, and that would make most ER docs who are starting out in their careers about 30-ish.
To be an emergency physician, or ER doctor, a medical degree from an accredited medical school must be earned. The Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree (D.O.) (earned in USA), Doctor of Medicine degree (M.D.), or Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS/MBChB) are all accepted medical degrees to become an ER doctor. you must have a four year college degree then before applying to medical school you have to take a MCAT test and when u are in med school you can do one yr interships and full residencys (sorry if this is not very helpful but I am only a ambitious 13 yr old who desperately wants to be a er doctor) -LJ

It depends on the extent of the finger injury. If it's a plain old paper-cut, then there is no point going to the ER or even the doctor. However, if you have accidentally chopped off a finger and is bleeding profusely, going to the ER might be a better idea.
