Excuse me but you can withdraw a child from public school, at any age in the State of Indiana. People do so to home school children all the time and Indiana is a great state to live if you home school.

The answer to your question though, the age is 16 in most counties but 17 in some others.

In the state of Indiana you can only drop out of school at the age of 16 to help support your family with financial problems. I just went through this with my 16 year old sister-in-law who wanted to drop out.

You must be at least 18.5 years of age. If you are still in school, you can work for your GED at 17 and must stay in school while doing so.
