where-ever i researched this question, it always said either 12 yers of age or 70-80 pounds. if your child is neither one of them then dont put that child in the front. if she/he is tall and 12 but not 70 pounds yet then whatever you would like to do then do. but if the child is 12 years old, tall, and weighs 70-80 pounds then she/he is obviously allowed to sit in the front. if u do not want to follow this then go to the nearest police station and ask them.

How do you turn the passenger side airbag off in a 2010 Toyota Corolla?

According to the owner's manual, the passenger seat includes a detection system that takes into account how much weight is on the seat and if the seat belt is clicked. If the car determines there is no passenger in the seat, the air bag will not deploy during an accident (but there's no indicator light for that). If the car determines that there is a child in the seat the "airbag "off" indicator light should be illuminated and the air bag should not deploy during an accident. If the car determines the passenger is an adult, the air bag will deploy during an accident. I am trying to find out what are the specific conditions the car uses to distinguish between a child and an adult. No details on that in the manual. Hope that helps.

At what age and weight in Illinois does a child no longer require a car seat and is the child to be in the front or back of the car?

According to the January 1, 2004 "Illinois Child Passenger Protection Act" all children under the age of eight must use a car seat and seat belt, or an "appropriate child restraint system." However, a child weighing more than 40lbs. can ride in the back seat of a car with only a lap belt if there are no lap and shoulder belts available. All children 8 to 16 must wear a seatbelt and/or car seat as appropriate. Nothing is said of when a child can sit in the front seat of a car without a car seat or booster. See related links. The first one is from CyberDriveIllinois, and gives practical information on the Child Passenger Protection Act and a general guide to proper seat restraints. The second is the text of the CPPA.
