Generally the bigger the bird the longer the life.

The longest life span for one of the the largest parrots - the cockatoos of Australia - averages 65 years, and the macaw can easily reach 50 years.

Smaller parrots such as budgies have a life span of around 12 - 15 years.

Individuals of some parrot species have been known to live up to 80 years.

This is a highly disputed topic, with many high profile, trusted sources, like BBC, The Telegraph, The Times, ISIS and Guinness World Records all claiming different things.
It depends on the type of parrot. Some parrot species can live up to 80 years, but smaller species may live only 15 to 20 years.
Here are a few members of the "parrot" family and their average lifespan:

Budgies - 15 years

Cockatiels - 20 years

Amazons - 50 years

African Greys - 50 years

Cockatoos - 65 years
Depends enormously on the species - budgies can often live into their teens, large parrots, such as amazons, macaws, cockatoos, greys, can live for over 50 years, on occasion to over 70.
