As a single mom of 2 boy this is a skill that i am still learning. However, recently in my Human Growth and development class I learnt about the different areas of social development. John Bowlby a British psychiatrist known as the father of attachment, states that attachment is the strong emotional bond a young child forms with its primary caregiver; it is considered the cornerstone for all other relationships in a child's life. Bowlby also talks about children with parents who are nurturing and sensitively responsive to their needs tend to develop a secure attachment style characterized by a belief that they are worthy of others love and that people can be trusted to care for them. So as single parents we have the responsibility of raising secure, confident humanbeings if we form secure attachments from birth.
No, you should not take children to a child support court hearing. This is for the parents to deal with and the children should not even know it is happening.
The truant should be made responsible for what they have done because they know what they did was wrong, but the teacher should phone the parents and discuss the problem so the parents are more aware of what their child is up too and it is then their responsibility to deal with any problems that child may have for truancy and deal with it.
To deal with defiant children is a tough task for anyone, even the most trained professionals or parents with many kids. You should get some professional training by taking a class to help you better deal with your situation. Not one thing works for everyone, so get some help with your situation.
Haley's parents claim she does, as wall as her having a single already.
get a life and deal with it
parental pressure them; threats, ultimatums, gifts, etc
They dont duhhhh sorry man, you'll just have to deal with it.
Treat them the same as everyone else. Parents that have children with mental retardation should seek help to raise these children.http://www.parents.com/health/down-syndrome/down-syndrome-resources/
OCD can be passed down from parents to children but more likely in learned behavior than in their genetics. Children will be more likely to develop OCD tendencies when they grow up watching their parents deal with OCD issues.
Of course, but how much depends on how the parents deal with each other, and access rights ect.
parents should talk to their kids but never hit them maybe punish if you want i guess it wont matter btw this was written by a teen
The main problem with dating a single mother is that her children will always come first and it is a package deal. The mother will have some baggage from a previous relationship or marriage and it is possible that the father of the children will still be in the picture.
