Whatever they were told to.
a slaves day looks like this they do work all the time
Slaves did not have activities that they could do in their free time in the same way that other people did. They were slaves to their owners, and were forced to do grueling work throughout the day.
27 hours a day
During the transatlantic slave trade, most slaves were taken from Africa and transported to work on plantations in the Americas, particularly in regions like the Caribbean and the southern United States. Slaves were forced to work in various industries such as sugar, cotton, and tobacco production.
Slaves were often required to finish work before dark as it was difficult to work in the fields at night without proper lighting. Additionally, completing work before sunset ensured that the slaves had enough time to rest and prepare for the next day of labor.
so they wont do the work
The overseers did, the plantation ownesr would hire them to watch over the slaves because the themselves had no time to.
They helped the slaves move together and pass the time.
Slaves would have nothing and would work for a long time.
Most slaves had to work from sunrise to sunset. Some owners made their slaves work everyday, others allowed slaves one day off a month and some allowed their slaves to have Sundays as a rest day. Slaves would spend their free time mending huts, making pots and pans and relaxing. Some plantation owners allowed slaves a small plot of land to grow things to supplement their diet. Slaves were not allowed to read or write but some were allowed to go to church.
I should imagine slaves were up at the crack of dawn as were most people in ancient times. There was no electricity so as much work as possible had to be done in daylight.
Slaves typically started work at dawn and continued throughout the day until sunset. They had long work hours and very few rest days, often laboring from sunrise to sunset, sometimes even longer during peak seasons like harvest.
