Marie Antoinette was queen of France (husband Louis XVI) were rulers during the French Revolution in the 1700s. Because of the revolution, both were killed by revolting peasants. They were killed by the guillotine, a more "humane" way of killing criminals that involves quickly dropping a blade to decapitate them.
