for bell boots and splint boots you can just hose them off, dry them, and store them in the tackroom
Most horse boots can be washed,, it just depends on the material they are made of. For leather boots you should clean them like you would leather tack. If they are synthetic then you can wipe them down with a damp cloth and let them dry in the sun to kill any bacteria.
I would reccomend Dover Saddlery
I think 'tack' is the wrong word. What you need are boots. They are sometimes called overreach boots or bell boots and are a must for a horse that 'tracks up' to the point that he interferes with himself. The result can be injury to the backs of the front cannon bones, fetlocks or heels which of course you want to avoid at all costs. You can buy these from your local tack or feed store or can order them online from horse supply catalogs.
Full of large size. But if you measure their legs then measure the boots in the shop it will help.
I would recomend medium size. Im also in the market for splint boots, and I found the medium size is for horses 14'2- 16' HH or the average size horse.
It is a old tradition that when someone died their horse would follow behind the hearse. The owners boots would be placed in the stirrups facing backwards.I think it dated back to the army.
I would say pony size.
The website of Kurt Geiger would be the best place to purchase Kurt Geiger boots. Any other store offering Kurt Geiger boots will have to buy it from the original retailer anyways.
A horse will over reach because of the way it's built. There is no way to prevent this as it's based on conformation. The best thing to do would be to buy a pair of over reach boots and some bell boots to prevent injuries.
I'd say bell boots .
