That in Swedish is spelled either "den" or "det", depending on the object in question. If the object is an apple for example, in Swedish 'That apple' would be called "det äpplet", while 'that car' would be said "den bilen". There is no rule to when which is used, but it is instead something one must learn word by word. The only general rule is that if you put 'one' (en/ett) before the noun, you know which form of the Swedish 'that' is supposed to have if you look at the end of the letter (still, you need to know if the noun is a "en" or "ett" word); one apple (ett äpple = det äpplet) or one car (en bil = den bilen).
