ANSWER: I think they are asking about accessing password protected files, not the administratord password. You can't do it. The whole point of someone putting password protection on a file is to prevent someone else from accessing it. ALTERNATE: If you are system administrator on the Vista machine, it is possible to open up files (i.e. "My Documents") under a protected user's folder on the secondary HDD that was running XP. To do this, you have to open up the XP HDD, right-click on the folder you are trying to access, and edit its security options. Give yourself ("Admin") the rights to write and read to it, and be sure to apply it to all of its subfolders as well - or you'll be there for a while. Any drive attached to a Windows OS, excluding encrypted information and code-locked hardware, is subject to the whims of that PC's Administrator. there are some free password changers http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/ http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html
Use the password ! If you don't have the password - you cannot access it.
Usually there is a hidden administrator account on windows xp. Try logging with username Administrator without a password. If whoever installed you Windows was smart enough to put a password on it, or you are working with the administrator account then try calling a technician.
Hold Windows key and press L That will lock your account. If your account is password protected then you will get a password prompt to enter that account again.
You type in the password, or ask the person who already knows it.
By default, there is no password set for the hidden administrator account on Windows XP. When setting up this account and enabling it, the user must create their own password.
You are asked for the password to the Administrator account.
There is no protected password to install minecraft but you do need an account created on the site and then pay for the game to play it
Only if they have your password.
Betty. What password locked you out? Is it the Windows password, a password to a particular program on your computer or the password to an online account?
You can make a password-protected user. On most versions of Windows, it's Control Panel - User Accounts (or similar) Then, it's pretty straightforward to create an account. The password protected areas will be your My Documents (anything in your personal folder if you have vista/7) You can also make a password-protected folder (with 7-Zip, WinRAR, etc.) that would make the files inside inaccessible without entering the password.
You can not do it in a windows command line.
As far as I know, You can reset windows user account password in safe mode(F8 when booting up). But if you forgot administrator password, you must reinstall windows OS or use the "Windows Password Seeker".
